College Relations and Marketing
About the Office
Web Redesign Project
Our office is collaborating with White Whale Web Services to implement a new web site and content management system. We encourage you to follow the redesign process on our blog and to share your feedback.
Design Services
The Office of College Relations and Marketing can assist in the design and printing of any College publication intended for an external audience. We also offer editorial assistance.
When beginning to work on a new publication, please keep in mind that the more time you allow for your project, the better the results will be. For new publications, you should always allow for six to eight weeks. For reprints with minor changes, you should allow for a minimum of four weeks.
Suggest a Story
We're always on the lookout for stories relating to campus life for the Web site, Magazine, and news media.
Please share your story ideas with Director of Communications Marcia Landskroener.
The Office of College Relations and Marketing is charged with communicating the mission, values, and news of Washington College. This includes print and Web publications for admissions, development, and the president's office as well as general communications and publicity support for programming and events. Filming and Photography Policy
The following guidelines are intended to clarify the rights and responsibilities relating to Washington College campus photography, filming, and videography (for simplicity, all references to photography are meant to include all forms of film, video, and digital imaging and any related audio recording).
Photography for purely personal and private use is permitted, as long as care is taken to respect the rights of Washington College students, employees, and visitors not to be photographed without their knowledge and permission. Care should also be taken not to disrupt classes or other College functions.
Filming and photographic use of the Washington College campus, its classrooms, faculty or students for any other use is expressly forbidden without permission, which can be obtained through the Office of College Relations & Marketing (410-810-7111).
Media Guidelines
Washington College routinely sponsors speakers, forums, readings and lectures that are publicized through the media and are open to all in the spirit of community service and education.
In our desire to support free inquiry and an open forum of ideas that are the core values of higher education, Washington College also reserves the right to invite members of the media—print, broadcast and electronic, as well as our campus newspaper and alumni magazine—to cover and report on these events. In addition, the College often records these college-sponsored events—electronically, by audio or videotape, or via printed transcript—as a service to our campus community.
These records are archived by the College and are freely available to students and faculty for educational purposes only. The College reserves to right to share such records, in lieu of transcripts, with members of the media on request.
Washington College assumes that the guest, by agreeing to appear at a college-sponsored event, understands and accepts our policy. However, the College will do all within its power to accommodate the requests and instructions of our guests if given sufficient notice in advance of the scheduled event.
